*taps the mic*

Well hello, two months later.

Life has been busy, and there were things I was uncomfortable sharing, but with that comes lots of changes.

I’m currently my third week in on a new job that keeps me excitedly busy. (There are days, like today, where my lead is off and I’m left wondering what I’m supposed to do.) It was a big step up, career-wise, and though I miss some people at my old job, I don’t really miss the job itself. It was eating my soul and really just killing my self-worth, so it was time to move on. Two years of it was long enough.

Himself and I worked through Dead Island, and it’s good. (I should review it later). We’ve also been watching a lot of movies and shows (but that’s normal). And have gone back to sporadic League of Legends games.

Other than that, we’re doing good, and not to jinx anything, but this is the first time in a very long, long time I can say life is good. It’s a bit intimidating to be able to accept that, but it is what it is and I’m happy about it.

I still have some under the hood work that needs to be finished for this site, I just need to find a front-end programmer friend to help me out, any takers?

mo’money, mo’problems…

I’m beginning to think I’m not going to end up with a traditional second job for side/extra income, so I’ve got to think of something else. With all my hobbies, interests and unmarketable niche skills, I should be able to come up with something, right? So without further ado, here’s my “I’m really just talking to myself” pros and cons list.

  • I’m good at making herbal teas.
    • It’s fun and I love to do it.
    • Some rarer components are expensive.
    • I’m not professional-grade quite yet.
    • I’d have to devote a lot of time to internet presence, marketing and other things I’m not decent at.
    • I don’t have a base stock for teas on which to build upon (I used to use a black tea with jasmine to start).
    • An herb garden would be really useful/cost effective and I don’t have one.
  • I can read tarot
    • I have my dad’s Thoth deck. I’m unfamiliar with it. My prized deck is incomplete and worn out.
    • Truthfully, the Thoth deck scares me.
(Probably because of the association with Aleister Crowley. I might tell you why Crowley scares the bejesus out of me (but dealing with demons doesn’t) one day.)
    • I have a Dragon deck somewhere (I think).
    • Etsy is flooded with Tarot Readings, the cheapest ones being for listing price (20¢). So it’s basically competing in an over-flooded market.
    • There’s a Tumblr for free readings as it is.
  • I could do (minor) shaman/hoodoo-related things.
    • but really, I’d just rather refer everyone to Carolina. (and Ms. Dirty when she starts hers up…)
  • Jewelry
    • I have been doing this on and off for over half of my life
    • My inspiration for it has been lacking for years.
    • I don’t have any niche concepts that would put me outside the flood of people on etsy, artfire, whateverelse is out there now.
    • I’d have to devote a lot of time to internet presence, marketing and other things I’m not decent at.
    • I could do devotional jewelry, but I already can think of a couple people that currently do it better than me.

Ugh, I’m at a loss. Any suggestions?

Quotes that are inspiring me today

Update on Francis

Francis the Hobo Kitty

For all those wondering, Francis is currently still fine and doing what he does. (Including now using my car as a hangout*.) I’m beginning to wonder what all will happen in the winter-time, when the water bowl will freeze and food for him will be harder to find.

Anyone have any tips? Well, besides adopting him, because I’m pretty doubtful Parsley and Thyme will accept anything but a kitten at this point. (Parsley is 2½ and Thyme is just about 4 years old.)

*As evident by the oil mark on his ear.
